Sorry I haven't posted something in a while, and it seems like I won't be able to post much this week because of the communion season.
Wednesday night I started this diet for Mark, my is it ever complicated! No yeast, no sugar, not even milk or any dairy products!! Oh, not to mention no processed foods. Fresh fresh fresh....yikes, I hope I know what I got myself into! $300 a month though...can't go wrong really! I'm making practically $5 a meal...I guess its not too bad. I try to get his lunch and meal done in the morning or early afternoon (when Amelia is sleeping) that way when I have to focus on my own dinner and lunch for Jett I can do that without having to worry about meals for Mark. Well, I've been wanting to make some money somehow from the home for us and now I have my opportunity! So I should be thankful.

I just had to share my daughter puckering up to the mirror...it was too cute! Now, if only she could learn to give mommy and daddy a kiss we wold have it all figured out!

I think bath time is one of her favourite times (thats kind of funny, cause it used to be one of the worst times for her!).

I went shopping Saturday afternoon with Jett (it was soooo much fun!!). We ended up going out to eat (the first time since my birthday) at Olive Garden too...it was very nice and Amelia was good. I bought two skirts (both of denim looking material) very nice, and so was the price!! Orginally they were both around $44!! But they were on clearance for $22 and the day we went was a special one day sale 40% off!! So I ended up spending only $27 dollars combined for two brand new skirts which would have cost me around $88!! (Not that I would spend that much on only two skirts anyways!). :) Hmm, I sure am rambling a lot today!

We plan on having the minister for dinner tonight and hopefully Friday we'll have Uncle Dave, Aunt Heather and Mr. Macpherson. Yesterday, Jenna and Matthew Smith and Timothy Metcalfe were baptized, and in the evening Joseph and Carl were ordained deacons for our congregation...yes it was quite a full day!

Hmm, so how are we you might be asking? Well, Amelias on antibiotics for her ear infection and now shes got this horrible runny nose again. Jett and I are feeling kind of "so so" too. Sore throat and little runny nose etc, seems to be the symptoms of a cold. Anyways I had better get going and fold some laundry...and maybe pick up this house a bit before we have company!

a gorgeous thursday!

It is a lovely, beautiful, even gorgeous day! The sun is out its not too hot, and not even muggy...and theres a lovely breeze...just perfect for a picnic or a walk! Oh I wish I could!!

Jett didn't go to University today (he's been skipping classes ever so often but never gets to stay home!) but hes still studying! He went to the library an hour or two ago so that I could let Amelia cry without having to take care of her every moment. Amelia still isn't feeling good. I feel awful, and guilty for not taking her in sooner to see a doctor (I'm going tomorrow all being well.). I know for a fact she has an ear infection, but its not going away by itself. First she was showing symptoms of a cold and runny nose...and that lasted almost 2 weeks! Then she started pulling on her right ear, slight fever ever so often (especially at night), was more fussy at night and restless, and she also wouldn't eat as much as she normally does. The poor thing, I feel awful! See, we would have taken her in by now but I'm waiting for her CHIP (Children's Health Insurance Program) to come in, well guess what! I called and asked how long it might take and they said up to 40 some odd days! I obviously couldn't wait that long! So now we get to spend a lovely $120 for this first time visit. This female doctor was suggested by my lovely midwife so I feel very confident going to her rather than someone else (and price doesn't change much with other doctors!).

Hmmm, what else is new? Well, we're considering filing taxes this year to see if we'll get a child tax credit...if we do it might pay off that doctor bill we'll have tomorrow!! Did you know some white trash peoples (thats what their called here) will have lots of kids just to get tax breaks and extra benefits, whether by food stamps, medicaid or just returns from the IRS?? I was horrified! Those poor kids...I can't stand seeing them with those kinds of parents.

Anyways, Hayley's 20th Birthday was yesterday and we're planning on a surprise birthday party for her tonight. It won't be long now and she'll be married off and we'll be out of our wee apartment...bound for Scotland...oh dear, I'm not ready for that. Jett's passport came in yesterday so now I'm awaiting mine...and we're still awaiting to see whether the church is registered...dear dear, I hope that things work out...and sometimes I hope they won't...but really what is one extra year going to do for us anyways? We'll still need to go to Scotland eventually D.V. Ach well, that verse in the Bible is very true (and how often I need to learn it!) "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." 1 Timothy 6:8 How good the verse before that is too! "For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out."

Another Friday!

Well it is another Friday, not particularly my favourite day of the week but neither is Saturday! Tonight we'll probably get together at Mom and Dads. This time though John won't be there, hes in Scotland right now probably enjoying himself. He'll be back I think next week Wednesday round about I think? Anyways, since blogs are boring without pictures here is yet another picture of my daughter...hmm, I seem to post a lot of her don't I?

Now, see, she doesn't quite have my ears! Shes got lobes yes (which Jett doesn't have) but I think she really does have more of Jetts ears than I think!

Yesterday I was busily trying to get my grocery list done, and just as Jett came home and I'm out the door I was called over to Moms for some milk and cookies (yummy!!) so I went over there only to be sent back to pick up Jett so he could go take an extension cord to a job in Santa Fe...so he dropped me off again at Moms (wow that was confusing) and came back to pick me up...I then finally went to Walmart to get my groceries and I forgot 3 items! Thankfully I called Hayley and she made supper for me (which was really nice cause I felt like I was running around with my head cut off).

Later on though...We get a call that Joseph is going to the hospital because he got a very bad reaction to a wasp sting. Joseph called later asking for Jett to come so my husband leaves and doesn't return for another hour and a half. And during that time Hayley runs off with James house. So here I'm left alone in the house with Amelia...its 9:30 and I'm getting her ready for bed and stuff...my it was rather depressing!

Oh, and I was going to post a wee picture of something that us girls did...I wont post any of them seeing they were really embarrassed about it all but heres me in my wedding dress that looks like it came from great great great great Grandmas closet! :) Now why did I pick that dress? I guess the price was right at the time, but now that I think of it it was pretty old-fashioned.

I had better clean up my kitchen now, and do whatever else I'm supposed to do...oh yes I got to put a load of diapers on. A housewife's job never ends... :)

One day after a busy day at the University of Houston...Jett came home tuckered out so he lay down for a wee nap (or tried to get one at least). But lo and behold little Amelia wanted to play for Daddy came home! Heres a few pics of her on the bed.

But I caught a cute smile out of her!! Isn't she lovely?

Jett really didn't get a nap though cause she kept making noises...she isn't a very quiet baby girl! Better be making supper now!

It is Wednesday!

One of the days that I still haven't figured out how to manage is Wednesday! See, Monday is laundry day (and clean up day after the Sabbath) Tuesday I need to set aside partly for the girls outing and to finish laundry and ironing. Wednesday? I've thought that that needs to be office day but well today I ended up doing tons of cleaning instead! Made one meal for the communion and now we have leftovers for supper tonight. Anyways, here is a picture of my lovely Sister Jackie and her daughter and mine.



Amelia must be catching a cold or something cause she has a runny nose. She's also been grabbing at one of her ears and thats also worrying me. I've been trying to get medicaid for her so I could have medical appointments without the cost. Well, I was denied medicaid but referred to something similar...that really doesn't make sense! Heres my lovely Mommy below holding Amelia, she was describing what Jett does sometimes...

Yesterday I went to the WIC office (Women, Infants and Children program) to get my vouchers again, however they had to recheck my money situation to make sure I wasn't making millions of dollars! :) Anyways, it just happens to be that the lady helping me is named Amelia Lopez. Why do mexicans call babies "mamas"? I'll never figure that one out! So I got my finger pricked, the baby weighed etc. To my surprise Amelia is only 18 pounds! Hmm, makes me wonder how much Jenna weighs!

bits and bobs

It is very warm here today, but thankfully a nice breeze is flowing through the windows...well somewhat. I'm sure that its different in Canada...cold maybe?

I put Amelia down for a nap a few minutes ago and decided to relax and write an email and write on here. I haven't been feeling very great today some kind of stomache pain. It could be worse. This morning I felt dragged out of bed for worship (I wasn't dragged but you know the feeling of getting up real early when your still half asleep) at 7:45am...yes I know its not that early! Lately I've been going to bed late. I then had to hurry get Jett's lunch finished and start my morning routine. Threw a load of diapers in the wash, made some granola square things, and cleaned my bathroom today...so I guess I've accomplished a little. Tonight we have church so it will probably be another late-ish night. :(

Anyways, I still haven't checked Amelia...I put her on the floor in my room so that she won't roll off the bed (not that she has yet!) so I need to make sure she hasn't decided to roll to another end of the room or something. She'll be 8 months this Saturday! Wow, time sure flew by!

My first post...

Its a beautiful not so dreadfully hot and humid, not so sunny day. My laundry is hanging out to dry in the lovely breeze and my wash machine is waiting to me to unload it and reload it once again...and here I am spending my time writing this thing! Below is a photo of the second last week in February you should really see the tree now! The leaves are completely out!

Amelia is still taking her nap its been 2 hours already but I'm glad!! I've gotten some things done for once! Jett went off to Uni this morning once again after his March break (which wasn't even a break) so hes into classes and studying etc etc again.

My Aunt and Uncle are down from Canada for a while, not sure when they are due back home, its nice having relatives visiting down here!

Anyways, will have to post some other time when I have a wee bit more time than now.
