Weeelll....

...I wasn't going to tell anyone yet, but since someone asked me point blank and now I'm worried about people finding out through the grapevine I'm telling you here...I'm pregnant with Baby #3. And I'm still in denial about it too haha, even though I feel nauseas and tired and etc! I'm only 7 weeks, with looking at a due date about May 18th. Haven't seen a doctor or a midwife yet so things have to be, I suppose "confirmed"...whatever, I think it is quite obvious, I'm expecting. :)

But anyways, thats our big news at the moment...although I'm lacking the excitement since I'm feeling the effects of morning sickness (What? I don't have a choice whether to be sick or not? Are you serious??). Anybody want to come clean house, make meals and take care of my kids for a couple of months I'd be soooo obliged... alas, it isn't that easy is it? Soo, I suppose we shall muddle through somehow, although it is hard to look ahead when you feel so gross. I've told many people this before, but I would rather go through labour/delivery then having to deal with morning sickness...hmm, that about sums up how bad it is!

Ok, need to really get some things done...if I can.

Poultry seasoning! :)

It is nearing the end of a busy day for me as I try to get us and the house "back to normal". A whole chicken that was sauteed with onions, butter, pepper, salt, garlic powder, and and and poultry seasoning is in the oven baking away!!! Yes my dear mommy sent me poultry seasoning...thank you!! :) Can't wait to make stuffing now! So as my potatoes are boiling and the carrots are cooking I'm here to tell you of the news around here.

The communion season came and went already! It was very nice, and Janet C took care of Amy Jane and Aaron for me on Sabbath morning so I could go to the table (as I haven't been able to twice now). So I really appreciated this. Ruth was busy as ever cooking up a storm in the kitchen and stuffed us very well! ;) Thank you Ruth for all your hospitality!

And my children have colds as I probably do too but I don't think to the same extent. Hopefully they'll catch up on sleep and the colds will vanish.

I'll need to run pretty quick again to check taters and so forth but here are some pics and clips.

Fabric I bought off of ebay...I got brave :)

Ooh, and more brave (haha I know I have horrible grammar, I don't even know if that is how you would say that) because I bought a pattern and Care if you don't have this one you might want to go and buy it as it has lovely pretty feminine skirt patterns!!! I was thrilled. Ooh, and on the back it shows more patterns you can do, and the one favourite of mine is on it as well...so we'll see what kind of denim skirt I can come up with.

Sweet Aaron that is during the day.

He is awful at night and last night was the worst night we have had so far!

My dear Husband.

A clip of Sam. Everytime Amelia sees this she shouts "Biolin!! Biolin!" I was planning on showing this way way back but never got around to it I don't think...unless I forgot as I'm apt to do nowadays. :S

Aaron in the bath tub...ooh does he ever like his baths!
And again in the bath :)

And that is all for now. And I'm almost positive my chicken is done...mmm to make some gravy! :)

Another Monday post with pictures

Another Monday, a rainy, cold, damp Monday. I had to get up I didn’t want to as I again woke up early morning (4:15) and couldn’t go back to sleep for a hour…but when I checked the clock this morning (when I woke up the second time) it was well past eight o’clock. Oh bother…now I won’t be able to make it to the surgery to register. Have you ever heard of a surgery opened from 9-10/11 most mornings excluding Fridays?? Maybe that is the time for registering…I don’t know, anyways I didn’t go. So a late start this morning for everything not good for me, but I suppose these things happen occasionally (or a lot lately since Aaron has been a naughty boy during the night hours).

Some of the first things I was thinking about this morning was my family in Texas, wondering how they are doing, when power will be back on for them, if their homes are okay which I expect they should be not too badly off but you never know, and when they will be returning home.

I was reading this morning from Ezekiel. A hard book to understand in many areas, but today I was reading from chapter 18 and was greatly interested in the latter part. This text I thought although commonly known, was so nice to read, “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? Saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways and live?” I think it is just another window if I can say it that way, into the heart of the Lord. We read that Jesus wept over Jerusalem, and oh how often he was pleading with them to repent! We are just shown over and over again in the Word how our hearts are at enmity against the Lord and yet the Lord has knocked, pleaded with us in some way or another that we would turn from out sins. What a wonder that He would still knock, seeing we do not deserve any of it. But, I’ve never been a good writer when it comes to explaining these things and I don’t wish to write something that would make sense to me but not to someone else and thereby confusing the other. (If that made sense!) Anyways, do have a read of the 18th chapter and give me your thoughts J

For now, I need to run and see if I can get a hold of the coal man…definitely not something I like doing (calling a stranger especially with a thick Harris accent) not to mention tidy, get Amelia up and so forth. So, off I go...oh, here are the pictures too!

A picture in Northton looking up the road to the road that runs from Leverburgh to Tarbert and so forth. Our house if the first one on the right that you see with the red car parked outside it.
Then I looked the other way and snapped this picture. Thats the big hill I've been telling most people about, probably famous of Northton (Haha famous??)

As you walk down the road towards the hill and look left you get this view.

And when you go all the way down and then sharp left a ways you get to this beach and here is one side...

And the other. Not huge, but big enough for us :)

Aaron, I put him in there if your wondering.

The open mouth and wriggling both hands look...Amelia started copying him and it is getting rather annoying.

Don't know if I posted this one, but this is a Highland cow of course, but in our backyard basically!

Taken awhile back, I asked Jett who he was going to call and of course he answered "Joseph..." Haha notice the "Coins Not Accepted Here" sign.
My kitchen and everyone has been saying what a big "cooker" that is! It works very nicely thank you. :)

Ok I'm really off now!

Psalm 23 vs 1

I didn't think about this till just today. I hope no one was thinking that I was "bragging" or boasting of my children especially of Amelia with her new learned skills when I put up videos of her. I truly didn't think about this till now, and I suppose I should have said something! I'm sure some pride enters in but I hope and believe my motive was not to brag about her, but to show all the family what she is learning. I feel, in this small way, that this keeps us closer as a family. So with that little explanation I go ahead with the following video...

How did I put up a video? Why, did I forget to tell you we have broadband now? And seeing while I'm at this here is her saying her alphabet although it usually is sung over and over and over....and you get the idea!

More beach and sun! :)

Ahh, what gorgeous weather we are having in Harris lately! My laundry is drying so nicely outside by the fresh breeze. Sunshine and lots of it should be thankful for such a lovely week.

Jett started classes today. I was quite eager to hear how it went (it went fine) as I’m sure you can imagine. I found out that Jett is going to be taking services this month in various places (see our calendar to the left). Yes, a whole lot more than we were used to in Edinburgh, but I expected that. We will see how he gets along with his studies in a week or two, by then I’m sure, we’ll be able to judge how this year will go.

What a drive it is to Stornoway for groceries! I’m glad we do it every other week – but still it takes 1 ½ hrs one way. For people in Chesley I can’t imagine them having to travel to Guelph for groceries…but that is kind of like it is here (Uh, I think it only takes 1 ½ hours to Guelph…boy it’s been a while) I guess we’ll just have to trudge along and get used to it. But I do very much dislike taking two kiddos with us as it just makes the drive more tense (especially when they scream…) Mind you, Aaron has always been a sweetie in the car (unless something is wrong “I’m hungry feed me” or “I’m dirty change me”) Amelia though, well, she never liked long car rides (who does by the way??) She was very good on the way up, but by the time we were half way home it was “WAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Want down!!! Want down!! Help?” Sounds awful eh? We had to stop and get her out, but that did nothing. So we finally offered her some “gogurt” as we drove the rest of the way home…oh dear, you don’t want to know what a mess she made of herself and the car seat!! Haha! I laughed at it, and wished my batteries for the camera were working because it would have been a grand photo (the batteries are charging at the moment). Anyways, the gogurt kept her happy and our journey was less stressful.

Did I ever mention how I dislike the teething stage? Aaron either is sick or is trying to push teeth through. I have never known him to be anything other than sweet in disposition, but lately it has been hard to keep him asleep at night and he fusses and fusses and fusses! He had a fever of a 101F for a good 24 hrs and I did give him something for it but it would just keep coming back. Poor thing he was just so miserable. He is better now, but the fussing hasn’t ended hmm, maybe he is just demanding more attention?

I think my cleaning splurge has nearly come to an end. Sad, cause I wanted to get the kitchen done! LOL, I’m sure I’ll manage it sometime. I was so busy cleaning doors one day and had to stop right in the middle of it due to screaming 7 month old, so I’m not done that job yet. I forget how dirty doors can get…ahh, but company can see it all. I do think I managed quite a bit if I washed nearly all the windows for the downstairs (inside and out)! It is so nice to be able to look outside without smudges of dirt on them.

Well…this has been yet another long and drawn out post from me, I wonder if you actually read this all.

And now for a few pics...

I really like any photos with Jett and Amelia together. She likes to copy him with so many things like pacing back and forth! Anyways, here she is following him.
And looking out onto the water.

Isn't this lovely?

"Wook, Big Water!"

Wow, a picture of the beach we were at the other day, quite nice eh? Yep that is my stroller with Aaron left in it all by his lonesome (for a mere 20 seconds to take this picture).

As you look left you got this sight...some of the "rock" my Oma described, although I really ought to get a better one of it - this isn't the best.

Dun Eistein

So, we are officially living in Harris now and I’m tired. On the 26th we travelled over, Jett in the red car (easily spotted while we were trying to keep up with him) and Catherine Dickie and myself with the kids in Alex’s focus. Amazing what you can cram into a car… So, after hours of driving we finally reached the ferry. I told Jett he had to take a few more items into the car because they just didn’t fit in the double stroller so that being done off we went to the ferry. Of course me being a walk on passenger I had to go up some stairs to get into the ferry…ok, exactly how do you do that with a stroller and two kids? Why you get people to carry the stroller…still it was far from easy getting the children up that flight of stairs (think Amelia walking holding my hand and myself carrying a computer bag and Aaron in carseat with the other hand…yeah not fun) but, this didn’t last very long and soon Jett was able to help get Aaron the rest (of the few steps) I didn’t realize he was already onto the ferry by this time! The ferry was so smooth, I have never been on such a smooth ferry I was needless to say, very thankful for that! We had a nice hot meal and before we even knew it we were in Tarbert, Harris. Anyways, the other details aren’t important, and here we are a week later in Northton with a huge house for just us!

The house needs a lot of cleaning I’m afraid and if anyone knows me I’m perhaps a clean freak (haha, when I can be one! Children don’t let you get much done). No one has been living in the house since last winter (maybe) so dust, dirt and etc had accumulated, I won’t mention what I found in the dishwasher (that doesn’t work). J So, Monday I spent lots of time cleaning the main room we use (kitchen and dining room) Cleaned three windows inside and out while running 3 loads of laundry through. Vacuumed behind stuff, vacuumed walls, corners, ceilings, light fixtures etc. And dusted! I have yet to wash the curtains, and really I think it needs to be done! And I think that has this room done pretty well, I ought to get the kitchen in better order, but I was so tired today due to…Aaron.

Yes, my lovely cheerful son has turned into a screaming crying baby at night…teething maybe?

So, instead of spring cleaning another room I went with Jett to explore some beaches since the weather was unusually sunny (and it didn’t last long either). We took a different single track road to a lovely big beach, but you had to walk a bit to get to it. Once we were there Amelia exclaimed, “Ooh, big water! Wook [look]!!” Took a few pictures but I doubt it would be worthwhile to post any at the moment…we only have dialup right now and are seeing into broadband but have heard from others that it may not be available so I’m not getting my hopes up.

Aaron looks like he is almost ready to crawl. He is getting his tummy off of the ground more and more, and today I even saw him rock a bit which is a good sign!

Monday we hope to run to Stornoway for our every two week “grocery” shop (lol…run? It is a 1 ½ hours drive) Tescos is there, and the prices are just as good as the mainland – yippie for that.

The house name here is called Dun Eistein or in English (correct me if I’m wrong) Edinburgh. I thought that was interesting.

And classes start next Tuesday for Jett.

Comments are welcomed, and I apologize for not replying to most of them just due to us moving and such I guess. Anyways, must run, its 5 and dinner needs to be prepared soon.
