Hello all, I haven't posted in awhile due to the sad news of Mrs. Cartwright passing away. Jett and I went Monday to see Mr. Cartwright for a while and tonight I hope to come with Jett for family worship that is to be held in the manse tonight (I think this seems to happen after one passes away - to have family worship every evening in the home, not sure for how long). But here is a few photos of Amelia for you all to view.

I don't have much time to write here because Amelia is starting to get fussy so this will have to be brief.



This was taken a day or two ago. I need to give Jett a hair cut...sorry.

Oh yes...I wanted to mention this contraption. Even though we do have a train that runs by fairly close (but not really close) but we dont ever hear it (I don't recall), we do have this thing running by our place at least once every single evening...and it plays a horrible piece of music which sounds rather creepy (and it is supposed to be a young childs song??). So we gave up the noisy train in Santa Fe for a noisy ice cream truck in Edinburgh... heehee what next?

I had to post these two up of Amy, it is so funny to me! I used to do this as a kid, and all of a sudden Amelia just started doing it all by herself.

Well, we have company tonight, hopefully...I think Catherine Dickie, Johan, Kathleen and James Dickie are coming over for dinner. I have lots to do before then...and time is already wasting...too much computer time! :) I also have to get ready for the weekend because we're going to Perth for the Sabbath - Oh I hope Amelia will be good for the drive there not to mention church itself and staying at someones place between services! Better get going!

Another Tuesday

It’s another Tuesday and Jett is back in classes again. I’m afraid he lost 5 hours of studying or preparing yesterday due to going to a chiropractor and Asda. I’m just being my lazy self right now and decided to put off dish washing, tidying and even some laundry. I think I would rather bake right now, but that’s me I suppose.

Well, yesterday, as I already mentioned, we went to see a chiropractor in Leith. We’re about maybe 5 minutes away from the Firth of Forth which connects of the North Sea, and maybe 10 minutes away from Leith. Can you believe there are only 15-18 chiropractors in Edinburgh area alone!? I was shocked! No wonder I couldn’t find many in the phone book! So different from the US/Canada! Anyways, another thing is its even more difficult finding a female chiropractor, and the only one that we did find is on maternity leave! So we’re settling for a male for now. He is from Australia. Anyways as most Chiropractors begin with a series of appointments close together I’m supposed to be back today for another adjustment. I don’t know why this pregnancy is different but my back is always hurting especially when I have to sit or get up. I’m determined it’s a boy but then again I’ve been proven wrong the first time! J

Hmm, we also went to Currys and PC World looking for a laptop for wee me…we found one for only 289 pounds…not bad at all considering everything else ranges from that to 799 etc! Not sure if Jett should have spent it on me though, but it will come in handy when he needs the good ol Toshiba.

Tried looking at Argos for a bundt pan and pie plate – no success. Where do I find these things here?! Ach well, Jett said I might as well just buy them online (I think I will).

Went to Asda, basically it’s a walmart but mainly only groceries are sold there, small appliances and electronics and clothes…not at all what we’re used to in the States. But it works for getting “cheap” groceries (if you can call them cheap). We roughly spending 50-60 pounds a week…yes that’s double in American dollars…heehee, and I was used to spending about $75! What else is different here? No half n half…small things of sour cream, small things of just about everything! Wow I’ve written too much! J Anyways, I plan on getting a couple of photos up soon of Jett and I, wanted to show my huge bump that’s growing like crazy. He’s a kicker I tell you! Worried about having a Jeremy…J hmm, I guess it wouldn’t be “too” bad in the end because Jay is a sweetie now…heehee I won’t get into the details of what he was like as a kid! Most of you know anywhoo!

A little bit of Amy

Well, since my last post nothing really new has been happening. The service last night was good 1 Peter 1:1-2. I was again struggling with a screaming baby an hour through the service. I went out of the church of course...but didn't take my diaper bag which had the key to the car...and Amelia started screaming louder...so I couldn't go back in...and then it started to rain and get windy...not a good situation! I don't know what I'm going to do in the future evening services. Why can't there be a "soundproof" nursery?

Anyways, today hmm, what did I do today. Took care of Amelia mainly I guess. Washed dishes, did a load of diapers (which still needs to be folded yet), ironed a million and one white shirts (okay it wasn't that many but it sure took a long time to iron 7 dress shirts for Jett!), I cleaned the bathroom :). Oh and I also made an appointment for the doctor...have no clue how they transfer me to a midwife but I guess I find that out next week Thursday.


Amy really enjoys "sorting" clean laundry.

I taught her to cuddle Teddy...and now she is often found (when allowed in the bedroom that is) cuddling this teddy bear which came from Mom (in law).

But it is very hard to get a good pic of it!!

Hello again!!!!!!!!!

At long last I post... its been a very trying week here so far. Things seem to be going ever wrong for us (or me?). GPS is down (still trying to figure that silly thing out), then our cell phone plan starting charging us again (2ND time in a row!), can't seem to find the things I need to bake...and then when I do find some things then I don't have certain recipes. Amelia has been very trying in church...oh boy, I was so embarrassed Sabbath evening, I think she was having terrible stomach pains, I guess I'll sit in the vestry for now. We are waiting on our grant, and then we found out about Mr. Campbell being in the hospital... dear me just one thing after another! Oh I forgot also I've been having a confusing time trying to get a midwife...why all this confusion?? Ach well, I think I have that almost sorted out, the place I'm supposed to go to is really actually close by (15 minute walk).

Ok, now for the news... in the weather last week was gorgeous sunny etc, and now we are starting to get the cloud cover...next week I predict rain :P Anyways, here are a couple pics of the apartment, sorry I didn't get the living room yet...it seems to be a constant disaster area of toys and clothes etc... :) Missing all family muchly and its lovely to see blogs up, the pics are lovely!

Amy is going into what we call Jett's study, and to the right is our bedroom, straight on is the living room/dining room and kitchen, while as you can tell there is a wee hallway on the left before you enter the living room, that goes to our very tiny bathroom.

Hi to all the family in Texas and Canada!



We safely arrived Wednesday in Edinburgh where Uncle Lyle picked us up and drove us to Ft. William. Our flight from Atlanta to Edinburgh was so empty...so we got to get more room! Amelia did great on the flight, but I hardly got any sleep.

Amelia has been getting more brave with regard to walking now, this afternoon she decided to try walking a ways and was able to do 9 steps...but usually its 2-3 steps and then fall down. For some reason she likes Gerrit...

Jett went to Glasgow yesterday with Uncle Lyle to look at a automatic car, but the "gear box" was messed up. Now this morning he took a bus to Edinburgh to see another car...and guess what we have wheels now! A Ford Mondeo...I guess I'll have to post pics of it for John...couldn't believe we got another Ford...heehee! It's a 1997 with only 45,000 (app) miles on it, and the condition was very good, Jett says the owners kept it clean. So glad that is one thing off the list! We can move into our apartment tomorrow, but we'll wait till Monday or Tuesday for that. Anyways, thats all for now, Jett is still driving around Edinburgh trying to figure out a cell phone deal. Short Note

Well, tomorrow is supposedly the "big" day for us. I think we're somewhat ready...at least our bags will be! It was very nice being at Joseph and Carolyn's place (our bedroom did eventually look more like what it was supposed to be.) So, our itinerary goes something like this we leave early morning (unless we get the flight to change) depart Houston 10:06 get to Atlanta at 1:15? and then wait 7-8 hours and then leave for Scotland! I sure hope we can get it changed without a fee...don't know why airfare.com changed our 11:44 flight to 10:06. It will probably be awhile before I post again! Bye for now!

Too much to post...

Well, it posted all my pictures in an odd way this time...I guess thats because I'm using someone else computer. Anyways heres a couple of pics of Amy just recently taken...dont know when I'll be able to post more because of us leaving next week. Moving went well, yard sale went well, the wedding went well, etc. Still organizing our stuff and packing for Tuesday...can't believe we are leaving next week already! Lots of love to my family andfriends that I haven't been in contact with lately!
