With a new camera...

...one can take lots of interesting photos.  Some are silly faces...

Or of a certain little man...can you believe this is Keith?!

Or photos that need funny captions to.

Some are cute and well posed (minus the lack of hair-doing ahem).
Others were supposed to be cute but ended up being funny (Keith was yawning).

With a new camera you can take numerous of those lovely landscape photos that you won't ever use...

...or at least you won't likely print them.

You can capture action shots like of my son being strapped in, or the other son doing some kind of 'dance'.

Here is another action shot of sorts.

Another thing I need to learn about this new camera is that is doesn't take half a minute to take the photo (yes our old cam took a long time to take one picture)...but then why does it still end up taking photos of kids with their eyelids half open?

We don't really follow any rules when it comes to photo taking...we just shoot when we feel like it.  Which is probably why we end up with these kinds of photos. :D

But in the end, we are still happy with our new camera.

Gisborne and back :)

We went to Gisborne for a couple of weeks which was nice.  The children have been asking when we would be going to Gisborne for awhile.  We stayed at a hotel by the harbour which was very comfortable.

Unfortunately the children and myself had bad colds so we felt kind of miserable half the time.

We had a lovely view, although our camera cannot capture much anymore due to me breaking it haha. :)

reading and all ready for bed
Amelia probably is wondering why I'm taking a photo of her.

Outside the Gisborne church on Monday of the communion.

A beach between Opotiki and Tauranga

Again.  It was a gorgeous day with large waves!
And now we are trying to get back to normal...with schoolwork being the major focus. We lost two weeks of school when there is two weeks of a break coming up soon!  I guess we won't be getting our two weeks off... :D

We received gifts from a lovely lady in our congregation.  The children are delighted and have been busily playing with them (lego).

And now off to change a diaper. :)  Apologies for lack of posting, I think I've lost interest in the past several months...that or I've just been busy! :)

Bits and pieces :)

I haven't posted in awhile so I thought I would take a few moments to update our blog.

We started school 2 or 3 weeks ago so not much is going on in the way of "getting out".  But we did manage to get up to Orewa Beach on Monday.  This is one thing I like about Jett's occupation (if one can call it an occupation?).  He can take off on Mondays!  It was a nice day to go up there, have a picnic and then play in the park area, and look at the water.

Keith is cutting another couple of teeth, hopefully he will loose this funny look soon! :)

Aaron is reading very well which is exciting for me.  He is different from Amelia though, he would still rather play than read a book.

Another photo of my sweet boy.

A week ago I made something I saw on the internet. Here Amelia is practicing her "sewing" skills!

See the butterfly?

And I had to make one for Aaron too...

I was surprised how easy they are to make!  All you need is a picture coloured or uncoloured printed on copy paper then glue it to a piece of card paper and cut the picture out, take a hole puncher and punch holes all around the edge...then get a long piece of yarn and tie it to one of the holes, and on the other end tie it to a plastic yarn needle!

Busy times!

We've been busy!  Busy getting ready for the communion, busy during the communion and busy afterwards.

We had a very nice communion season.  Mr. Macdonald and Mr. Campbell came to assist for our communion.

Uncle Samo taking Aaron and Owen to the nearby dairy.
After the communion, Jett had some time off, so we did a few things with the family, like going to the zoo!

Aaron was our navigator...er sortof.

Amelia said her favourite animal was the flamingo.

And then I dropped my old camera and broke it.  It still takes photos but parts of each photo remains unfocused. :(

Two new trains for Aaron!

Aaron had a birthday on Feb 2nd.  He is 5.  Already!  I made him a little train cake, which I photographed with my camera phone.

On Tuesday we went up to the Coromandel peninsula and took a train ride.  It started out all misty, and then cleared up for our drive back home.
During out train ride we stop at the "Eyefull" tower.  Which had some nice views.
